Combat / Combate

This one was made for the Old Dragon project, but didn't make into the Fast-Play-Test book. The rendition is not very dynamic and has an obvious angle, but I'm posting here so it can see the light of day :)

I was uncertain about flipping it horizontally or not. The direction in which we read has a great influence in the flow of an image as well. This can be seen more clearly in comic books but single illustrations still follow the same pronciple. While I like the first one better, here I included both versions - which worked better in your opinion?



Esta ilustra foi feita para o projeto Old Dragon, mas não entrou no livro de Fast-Play-Test. O resultado não ficou muito dinâmico e tem um ângulo óbvio, mas eu estou postando aqui para que ele veja a luz do dia :)

Eu estava na dúvida a respeito de virar a ilustra horizontalmente ou não. A direção em que nós lemos tem uma grande influência na leitura de imagens. Isto pode ser visto mais claramente em quadrinhos, mas ilustrações isoladas ainda seguem o mesmo princípio. Apesar de gostar mais da primeira, incluí aqui as duas versões - qual funcionou melhor na sua opinião?

Veni, Vidi, Vici!

I've been a bit shy lately, eh? Time for blogging has been cut short - but here I am again!

This illustration depicts an adeventurer group created for the 'Veni, Vidi, Vici' book by Alephtar Games. It contains four scenarios and is meant to be used with the Rome: Life and death of the republic book. The names are linked, in case you want to check it out and maybe buy the books to support the artists and writers!

As a treat I also posted the initial group I did. It contained two female characters that I had to replace with male ones; It turns out that in Roman society it would very unusual to have female adventurers! This replacement was digital, but the work was all traditional - pencil and then inks. It was very fun and challenging to do, since I'm too used to the 'undo' command! Til next time.

Esta ilustração representa um grupo de aventureiros criado para o livro 'Veni, Vidi, Vici' da Alephtar Games. Ele contém quatro aventuras e deve ser utilizado em conjunto com o livro Rome: Life and death of the republic . Os nomes estão com links, caso você queira dar uma olhada e talvez comprar os livros para dar uma força para os ilustradores e escritores!

Como brinde também postei aqui o grupo inicial que eu tinha feito. Ele tinha duas personagens femininas que eu tive de substituir por homens; é que na verdade na sociedade romana seria bem difícil avistar mulheres aventureiras! Esta substituição foi digital, mas o trabalho foi todo tradicional - lápis e nanquim. Foi divertido e um desafio fazê-lo, já que estou muito acostumado com aquele comando chamado 'desfazer'!
